Challenge
Elections in Nigeria demanded a digital voting experience that citizens could trust one that felt secure, transparent, and easy to use regardless of technical literacy. The challenge was to design a platform where identity verification, ballot casting, and result transparency all worked seamlessly together, without compromising accessibility or public confidence in the process.
Results
Following the redesign, voter engagement increased by 65%. The interface and content organization made it easier for voters to find information and make accurate decisions with satisfaction ratings from 4.0 to 4.7 stars.
Process
Research & Analysis: We researched the barriers to voter participation in Nigeria accessibility gaps, security concerns, and trust in electoral systems to define the core problems the platform needed to address.
Information Architecture: We mapped the voter journey from registration to ballot confirmation, structuring the platform so identity verification, ballot access, and result tracking felt transparent and secure at every step.
Wireframing & Prototyping: We built wireframes and interactive prototypes for the voting flow, testing how verification steps and ballot design could stay simple without sacrificing security.
Usability Testing: We tested the platform with a range of users to observe how they navigated registration and voting, refining language, layout, and accessibility features based on their feedback.
Visual Design & Style Guide: We created a clean, trustworthy visual identity using clear typography and a confident color system, then documented it in a style guide to maintain consistency and credibility across the platform.
