Challenge
The original platform had an outdated interface that was difficult to navigate, causing frustration among users. The complex workflows and lack of clear visual hierarchy made it challenging for users process and monitor their orders effectively. Our task was to simplify the user journey, reduce cognitive load, and incorporate modern design principles to make the platform more user-friendly and visually appealing.
Results
Post-redesign, user engagement significantly increased with a 38% reduction in task completion time and a 30% decrease in user error rates. User satisfaction ratings improved from 3.2 to 4.6 stars. The streamlined workflows and modern interface resulted in a 45% increase in completed orders within the first six months of the launch.

Process
Research & Discovery: We conducted user interviews, and competitive analysis to understand common pain points in restaurant mobile apps, long checkout flows, cluttered menus, and unclear order customization and used these insights to shape our design priorities.
Information Architecture: Based on the research findings, we mapped the full user journey, from discovering a dish to confirming an order, and reconstructed the navigation so browsing, filtering and cart management felt intuitive at every step.
Wireframing & Prototyping: We designed low-fidelity wireframes to help us test different layouts for the menu, dish detail pages, and cart flow. Interactive prototypes let us validate the ordering sequence before moving into visual design.
Usability Testing: We conducted usability tests with a diverse group of users to observe how they browsed the menu, customized items, and completed checkout, refining tap targets, spacing, and flow based on their feedback.
Visual Design & Style Guide: We built a warm, appetite-driven visual language, rich yellows and deep neutrals, bold food photography, and clear typography, then documented it in a style guide to keep brand consistent across every screen.

“ Working with the team transformed how our customers experience Yellow City Restaurant. The app feels warm, fast, and true to who we are, our regulars notice the difference everytime they order.”
